What is a UPS and why do I need one?
A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) provides backup power instantly when mains power fails or becomes abnormal. It protects connected equipment from outages, voltage fluctuations, surges, and other power disturbances. UPS systems are essential for data centers, medical equipment, security systems, and any application where power continuity is critical.
What is the difference between a Line Interactive UPS and an Online UPS?
A Line Interactive UPS powers the load directly from mains under normal conditions, using AVR to regulate voltage fluctuations, and switches to battery when mains fails (transfer time: 4–6ms). An Online UPS continuously powers the load through its inverter with 0ms transfer time, providing the highest level of power protection.
What is the difference between simulated sine wave and pure sine wave?
Pure sine wave output matches the utility grid waveform exactly, making it suitable for all devices, especially sensitive equipment with active PFC power supplies (servers, NAS, medical devices). Simulated sine wave (stepped approximation) provides a cost-effective alternative suitable for general loads like PCs and printers.
Which series should I choose?
For basic home/office equipment with budget priority, choose the AK Series For networking devices, NAS storage, and equipment with active PFC power supplies, choose the AP Series For servers, medical equipment, telecom systems, and any mission-critical applications requiring the highest power quality, choose the AF Series
How do I determine the right UPS capacity?
Calculate the total power consumption (watts) of all devices to be protected. Select a UPS model with at least 1.2–1.5 times the total wattage. For example, if total load is 400W, choose a UPS rated at least 600VA/480W or above.
What voltage standards do Johsun Tec UPS systems support?
All series support both 110/120VAC and 220/230/240VAC input with auto-sensing 50/60Hz frequency, making them compatible with electrical standards worldwide
What certifications do the products carry?
Products are CE certified, with select models carrying RoHS, FCC, and IC certifications.
