■ How to Choose This Transformer

Five ratings cover 500VA to 2000VA, and the choice usually comes down to load type rather than raw wattage. Resistive and electronic equipment can use roughly 80 % of the transformer rating; induction motors need two to three times their nameplate power; compressors need five times or more. The 500VA and 750VA models serve electronics and audio, the 1000VA is the general workshop size, and the 1500VA and 2000VA frames are for equipment with a motor or for a bench with several outlets.

Three decisions before you order:

• the calculated load after surge factors, not the simple sum of nameplate watts;
• the socket standard and how many sockets are needed;
• whether a steady output matters enough to size one step above the calculated load.

Output voltage tracks the input closely until the transformer approaches its rated load, after which it falls according to the regulation of the winding. Where a rock-steady output is essential, size the transformer at least one step above the calculated load and consider a stabilizer upstream. Note also that the output frequency always matches the input — a transformer converts voltage only, so a 50Hz supply cannot be turned into 60Hz. Where the total calculated load exceeds 2000VA, the laminated-core DT/ST range continues upward from 3000VA.

1. The efficiency of the DT/ST series is 80%. For equipment with motors or compressors, the starting current will multiply — always reserve adequate power margin.
2. Pure resistive / electronic loads: choose a transformer with capacity ≥ 1.5× the equipment rated power.
3. Inductive loads such as motors and compressors: choose a transformer with capacity ≥ 2.5–3× the equipment rated power.

Do I need to set anything before use?

No. Input voltage selection is automatic on the ZX range, so the unit can be connected and used in either a 110V or a 220V region without adjustment.

Which rating suits a small kitchen appliance?

Most kitchen appliances fall between 500W and 1,000W input and suit the 1000VA or 1500VA frame. Heating appliances should be sized at 1.5 × their input wattage.

Can two units run side by side for a bigger load?

Parallel operation of two separate transformers requires matched impedance and is not recommended. Step up to a larger frame, or to the DT/ST range, instead.

Does the transformer regulate the voltage?

No. It transforms voltage; it does not hold it steady against changes in the supply. Where the mains itself swings widely, an automatic voltage stabilizer should be added upstream.
